The Qingdao International Beer Festival will debute its new old town venue at Shangjieli on July 18, adding historic charm to this year's celebrations.
Over the course of 30 days, the venue will showcase its unique charm through the lenses of "cultural flavor, experiential sensation, festive atmosphere, and fashionable appeal". With eight distinct spaces and a focus on the theme of "five centuries", the venue will host an array of events, offering a multi-layered festival experience for locals and tourists alike.
Back in 1901, the original Tsingtao Brewery was born in Qingdao's old town - the birthplace of China's beer industry. Over 30 years later, the fragrant essence of hops once again wafted through the streets.
Leveraging its deep-rooted beer heritage, the Qingdao old town venue of this year's beer festival will meticulously curate over 20 activities, embedding the essence of Qingdao's old town culture, beer culture, and courtyard memories into the event. From a global showcase of unique beers and a time-honored gourmet street to immersive cultural performances and interactive experiences, the festival will make the old town's memories visible and tangible, its historical culture palpable, and create a beer district with a distinctive centenary Zhongshan Road flair.
